Today I talked to my bestest friend from high school, DB, whom I haven't talked to in several years. We have been friends since we were about 16 years old, and although we don't have contact with each other that often we are still in each other's thoughts. When we do talk (like today), it's as if we've never been apart. She has been my friend through thick and thin, and I know that she will always be there for me...as I will always be there for her. It's really nice to have friends like that. Ones that you can depend on to be there when you need them, and to share your thoughts and experiences with.
In fact, I have several friends like that....each one from a different time in my life. There's my very first personal friend, DA, whom I've known since I was around 5 or 6 years old, and we continue to be friends today. ES from grade school, DB from high school, KD from after high school but before I went into the Army, RL(P), SM, PP, RC, AC and TZ from the Army, PP and LW from very young adult, WW also from young adult, LE, GC, KB, and SK from later years, PS from on-line, and the list goes on and on. Of course, this isn't all the friends I've made throughout my life, but these are the ones that I'm in touch with the most.
Those that know me will say that I'm outgoing and that I have a lot of friends but I'm actually shy, so once I make a friend I don't ever want to lose them. -- I just want my friends to know that I think of them all often, and that I wish there was some way to see all of them again. I know that that's impossible, so the best way to keep in touch is by e-mail, telephone, or by blogging!!!
This is my first attempt to blog, and I hope you'll enjoy my entries. Please feel free to comment back, and let me know that you've been here. -- Remember: Strangers are just friends that we haven't met yet, however, still be mindful of using names and places that might be harmful in the wrong hands.
